Stretch Hood Multiple Industries

The Polychem Model IS43 automatic stretch hood machine has been designed to package palletized products using gusseted tubular film. The stretch hood machine technique uses a film hood having a smaller circumference than the pallet. The film is stretched by the by the stretch hood machine (WITHOUT THE USE OF HEAT) and applied to the pallet. Once the stretch assembly dispenses the film, it recovers providing package stability and five sided protection.

The stretch hood machine has two main operating phases, 1) the hood preparation and 2) the hooding of the load. The IS43 stretch hood machine is able to overlap these two phases reducing the cycle time. Once, the hood is formed, it is retracted onto the stretch assembly; then the film is proportionally stretched to accommodate the product size. The first sequence is performed during the transfer between one finished pallet and the following; not effecting the total cycle time.

The IS43 stretch hood machine has been designed to satisfy the main needs of the market. Considerable attention has been paid to logistics, installation, space requirements, operation, safety, maintenance, and overall consistency of the final product. Polychem’s stretch hood machine has a simple, modular structure. The machine can be installed on any type of existing conveyor WITHOUT ANY MODIFICATION. All zones of the stretch hood machine that require maintenance or visual inspection, can be easily reached by the operator without the use of ladders and/or platforms.
